LOCATIONS
During our search for a film location, one house owner offered to have his vintage orange BWI in our video. Obviously we said yes - especially since it matched our color palette! Inspired by Wes Anderson set designs, we dressed the scenes with a lot of color. Although I may appear calm in this lake scene I was freaking out on the inside. That’s because I almost drowned trying to float in the middle of the lake.
Art Direction: we did not want to be “shallow” so we filmed a scene in a lake with a drone!
Art Direction: I was going for a cool vibe and decided on a cyberpunk light setup.
Art Direction: I styled the outfits to fit the orange, pink, and black theme. I was unable to find a luxurious mansion like I originally wanted so we styled the scene to give the sense of “new money in the suburbs.'“
SET DESIGN
We followed a yellow color theme to decorate the dining table with bananas, candles, and outfits with plenty of yellow tones. To add a touch of intrigue we also added a green screened picture frame for some performance shots.
Art Direction: a “shallow” pool perfectly depicted the message of the song. Yellow and blue were the color themes I coordinated for this shot.
Art Direction: I wanted a yellow color theme to fill the entire frame. I styled the outfits to coordinate with the black and yellow theme.
